"Behind every successful man, lies a woman."

Women plays a very important role in making up the number of a population in a country.
Mothers play very important role in raising up the child. As a housewife, a woman has to do her part to keep everything in the house in place. For example, she has to keep the house clean and make sure there's food. Even the manners of the child is being shaped by the mother.
Women who have contributed the society are like Florence Nightingale and Mother Theresa.
In modern times, the women does not only does her part as a housewife to keep the family and hose proper, she also goes out to work to make sure the family is financially stable.

Nurses, majorly made up of women plays an important role in contributing to the health of people.

FANATICISM

when the fanatic becomes too obsessed
and forgets things that are more important than the subject.

Examples of items of fanaticism are
sports, soccer in particular,
computer games like Maple Story,
card games like Black Jack
and pokemon and digimon.

Fanaticism can hit anybody at any age.
Men can be too obsessed with soccer,
and become too fanatic that they start
to bet on teams that they are confident in,
which could lead to very undesirable consequences.

Children of ages five to ten
have been overly fanatic of TV shows
like Pokemon and Digimon and there are cases when
teenagers become too engrossed and fanatic of
computer games like Audition and Maple Story,
that they end up wanting to spend all their time
in front of the computer.
Death can occur when these teenagers
are not allowed to go near the computer.

Even girls aged ranging from five to fourteen
can be overly fanatic of popstars; their idols.
An example is Hannah Montana.
there was once a case where a portugese lady,
a fan of Avril Lavigne, became too obsessed with her
that she became dressing, singing, talking,
and even looking like Avril Lavigne herself!

Fanaticism, in conclusion, can occur to anyone at any age.
They are very easily accessible.
However, it is alright to be fanatic but to a certain extent
or it may lead to a serious case of fanaticism.

Favouritism

What is favouritism?

The unfair favouring of one person or group at the expense of another.

How can we not show favouritism?

But perhaps your daughter keeps saying that you love her brother more than you love her? And deep down, maybe you admit your son is easier to get on with?

As children develop their own personalities, a natural warmth may grow between one child and a parent. They may have the same outlook on life, similar interests or a shared sense of fun. This may lead to accusations of favouritism.

Recognise the situation
All children claim 'It's not fair', but you know favouritism is an issue, if one of your children is forever saying things like, 'You always take his side.' 'I get blamed for everything.' or as in your daughter's case 'You love him more than you love me.'

Listen to your daughter's complaints and ask yourself if it's true. Do you spend more time with him? Do you feel a special closeness to him? It may be hard to accept but recognising the truth is the first step to doing something about it.

What you feel and what you do
You can't change the way you feel, but you can do something about the way you act on those feelings. If you're honest enough to admit your feelings, then you're in a position to protect your less favoured child. If there is a bias in your behaviour, take steps to be fairer in future.

See it as she sees it
If it's not true that he is your favourite, ask yourself why she feels this way? Do you take his side in their quarrels? Do you think that he needs more help than she does? Does he lack confidence and do you make more of an effort to acknowledge his achievements, for that reason? All of this may look to her as if you give him more attention and more love.

Problems of being in DEBT!

There are a few problems related to being in debt

Some of which are:-

1) Being in debt might lead to unemployment

- when in debt you tend to keep thinking of ways to repay them.

- get strayed from doing your job properly and hand in work late.

- sometimes if you have creditors, they may look you up in your offices.

- this causes disturbance in your working place and your boss got to know about it.

- he is upset and you get retrenched!

2) Being in debt might trigger you to resort to foolish and reckless decisions

- when you are too desperate to pay up your debts, it causes much stress to your brain.

- this will create an impact on your brain telling it to do something wrong; stealing.

- then if you get caught, you would be spending time behind bars.

3) Being in debt might lead to death

- when you are in debt you get depressed easily as you worry about how to get the debt repaid.

- you get hopeless about life and feel that there is no way the debt can be repaid.

- taking the easy way out thinking that everybody would be happy you decide to end your life.

What worries you about growing up?

As teenagers, we often worry about financial difficulties we will face in the future.

As we grow older, our parents expect us to be more independent and study hard so as to be able to support them or support ourselves when we go out to society to find work and such.

We usually worry about how well our education level can bring us to find a good job and support our parents when they reach a retirement age. Every one of us hope to have a high paying job but it always leads to being able to score well and go to a good university.

We always talk about having a happily ever after marriage when we grow older. But coming to think of it, we also often worry about not being able to get married and gets left on the shelf. Being all alone when one gets old is a very painful and lonely thing to experience. We have seen such cases during our visits to the old folks home and we worry that we will end up experiencing the same thing.

Our worries does not just end at getting married. It actually starts all over again when we get married and plan to start a family. We have to be financially stable to be able to bring up our children with good education and health.

Balanced

To avoid extreme views or behaviors that will throw us off our chosen life path, we can remain mentally, physically and spiritually balanced. And we can choose to marry a similarly balanced person.

Respectful

Respect is crucial to any relationship. A person who respects others will not neglect to respect you, while one who is harsh and critical will, sooner or later, most likely exhibit that same behavior toward you.

A good listener

Most relationship problems stem from poor listening habits. There is a saying: “Seek first to understand before trying to be understood.” Our tendency in conversation is to be thinking about what to say next rather than attentively hearing what is being said. If your potential partner and you are either good listeners or committed to practicing the skills necessary to become good listeners, your marriage is more likely to succeed. Good listeners are usually also respectful and balanced individuals.

Humble

Look for a person who can admit his or her mistakes, apologize, and make amends for hurtful actions. If we marry Mr. or Ms. Right (they always think they are right), it is difficult to have a satisfying relationship.

Free from Addictions

Avoid persons who have excessive attachment to drugs, alcohol, food, sex, computer games or television. Such addictions often overshadow relationships with family members and friends. Although counseling can help addicts, it is risky to start a relationship with the hope of changing another person’s behavior.

Compatible

Although no two people are 100% compatible, the more compatible you and your future spouse are the easier it will be to understand each other’s thoughts and feelings and the greater the chances that your marriage will be lasting, fulfilling and harmonious. Compatible people have similar natures and share many of the same interests, values and intellectual and philosophical aptitudes.

Human beauty

The characterization of a person as “beautiful”, whether on an individual basis or by community consensus, is often based on some combination of inner beauty, which includes psychological factors such as personality, intelligence, grace, charm and elegance, and outer beauty, which includes physical factors, such as health, youthfulness, symmetry, averageness, and complexion.

A common way to measure outer beauty, as based on community consensus, or general opinion, is to stage a beauty pageant, such as Miss Universe. Inner beauty, however, is more difficult to quantify, though beauty pageants often claim to take this into consideration as well.

A strong indicator of physical beauty is "averageness", or "koinophilia". When images of human faces are averaged together to form a composite image, they become progressively closer to the "ideal" image and are perceived as more attractive. This was first noticed in 1883, when Francis Galton, cousin of Charles Darwin, overlaid photographic composite images of the faces of vegetarians and criminals to see if there was a typical facial appearance for each.

When doing this, he noticed that the composite images were more attractive compared to any of the individual images. Researchers have replicated the result under more controlled conditions and found that the computer generated, mathematical average of a series of faces is rated more favorably than individual faces. Evolutionarily it makes logical sense that sexual creatures should be attracted to mates who possess predominantly common or average features.

Another feature of beautiful women that has been explored by researchers is a waist-to-hip ratio of approximately 0.70 for women. The concept of waist-to-hip ratio (WHR) was developed by psychologist Devendra Singh of the University of Texas at Austin. Physiologists have shown that this ratio accurately indicates most women's fertility. Traditionally, in premodern ages when food was more scarce, overweight people were judged more attractive than slender.

Beauty is not solely limited to the female gender. More often defined as 'bishōnen,' the concept of beauty in men has been particularly established throughout history in East Asia, and most notably, in Japan. This is distinct from the idea of being metrosexual, which focuses mainly on the behavior of men in traditionally feminine ways. Bishōnen refers to males with distinctly feminine features, physical characteristics establishing the standard of beauty in Japan and typically exhibited in their pop culture idols. The origin of such a preference is uncertain but it clearly exists even today.

Inner beauty

Inner beauty is a concept used to describe the positive aspects of something that is not physically observable.

While most species use physical traits and pheromones to attract mates, some humans claim to rely on the inner beauty of their choices. Qualities including kindness, sensitivity, tenderness or compassion, creativity and intelligence have been said to be desirable since antiquity.

However new research comparing what humans claim to find attractive to their actual mating habits underlines the superficiality of "inner beauty," underlining the fact that the human animal relies on physical traits and pheromones just like every other animal to find a mate.

That said, whether "inner beauty" does or does not measurably affect humans' mating habits, some traits classified as "inner beauty" do give an evolutionary survival advantage to either the individual or mating couple or group or all three.

The Simpson Movie :D

Plot:
Homer Simpson, in his usual quirky ways,
got himself a pet pig and carelessly dumped its waste
into the town's newly-cleaned lake.
Unfortunately, it so happened that the town folks
were promoting the preserving of nature and saving the environment.
Thus, to "PREVENT INFECTION", the president blindly opted
to place a huge glass dome over the town and trap its citizens,
but the Simpson family escaped
through a pile of quicksand in a sandbox in their backyard,
thus begins their adventure of finding a new home and new life. In Alaska!
However, Homer faces difficulty dealing with the needs of his family.

Homer Simpson, for his ridiculous ways of entertaining us.

Why is this movie worth watching?
As much as this movie hardly made any sense at all,
we had a jolly time laughing at the unpredictable
and hilarious behaviours of the characters.
The director, producer and scriptwriter were witty
and open-minded and included real-life people like
Green Day and Arnold Schwarzenegger.
It also passes messages like "Save The Environment",
if we are able to read between the lines.

Why we think the movie is worth watching · The movie is perfect for someone who likes both fantasy and adventure. As it consist of mystical creatures and breath-grasping adventures, while introducing morals like sibling love and respondsibility. It illustrates the series of books that were quite successful among children.

Favourite Character: It would have to be Captain Jack Sparrow as he has such a unique personality, especialy for a movie protagonist. His charming personality and unique way of thinking is what makes the movie interesing and humourous.

Why is this movie worth watching?

We think that this movie is worth watching as it features visually stunning effects such as the battle at the maelstorm. this movie is also worth watching as it is part of a trilogy, and trilogies are all usually very exciting to watch.

Not to forget about Jack Sparrow's witty and humorous actions as this movie would be so different without him.

The film opens with Optimus Prime, heroic leader of the benevolent Autobots, describing in a voice-over the destruction of the Transformers' home world, Cybertron. It was destroyed by the evil Decepticon leader Megatron in his quest to obtain the All Spark. The Autobots want to find the All Spark so they can use it to rebuild Cybertron and end the war between the Autobots and the Decepticons, while the Decepticons want to use it to defeat the Autobots and conquer the universe. Megatron found the All Spark on Earth, but crash-landed in the Arctic Circle and was frozen in the ice. Captain Archibald Witwicky and his crew of explorers stumbled upon Megatron's body in 1897. Captain Witwicky accidentally activated Megatron's navigational system and his eye glasses were imprinted with the coordinates of the All Spark's location. Sector 7, a secret United States government organization, discovered the All Spark in the Colorado River and built the Hoover Dam around it to mask its energy emissions. The still-frozen Megatron was moved into this facility and was reverse engineered to advance human technology.

In the film's backstory, the Hoover Dam is built around the All Spark (which crash-landed in the Colorado River) to hide its energy signal from the Transformers.
In the present day, the rest of the Decepticons—Blackout, Scorponok, Frenzy, Barricade, Starscream, Devastator and Bonecrusher—have landed on Earth and assumed the disguise of Earth vehicles (except Scorponok, who hides within Blackout). Blackout and Scorponok attack the U.S. SOCCENT FWD military base in Qatar and try to hack into the U.S. military network to find the location of Megatron and the All Spark. Their mission is thwarted when the base staff severs the network cable connections. While Blackout destroys the rest of the base, Scorponok chases a small group of survivors who have photographic evidence of the robots, but he is eventually repelled. During this battle, the military discovers the only effective weapons against the Transformers' armor are high-heat sabot rounds.
After Blackout's failure, Frenzy infiltrates Air Force one to again hack into the military network, and plants a virus. He finds the map imprinted on Captain Witwicky's glasses, whose descendant Sam, intends to sell on eBay. Frenzy and Barricade begin tracking Sam's location. Autobot scout bumblebee is also on Earth, disguised as a chervolet and is bought by Sam while shopping for his first car. Bumblebee helps him woo his crush, Mikaela Banes. Bumblebee leaves at night to transmit a homing signal to the rest of the Autobots and Sam sees him in robot mode. Barricade confronts Sam and demands Archibald's spectacles, but Bumblebee rescues him and Mikaela. They leave to rendezvous with the rest of the Autobots—Optimus Prime, Jazz, Ironhide, and Ratchet—who have landed on Earth and taken the forms of Earth vehicles as well. Sam, Mikaela, and the Autobots return to Sam's home and obtain the glasses; however, agents from Sector 7 arrive and capture Sam, Mikaela and Bumblebee.
Frenzy, disguised as Mikaela's cellphone, secretly accompanies the group to Hoover Dam and releases Megatron from his frozen state. Locating the All Spark, Frenzy sends an alert to the other Decepticons. Sam convinces the Sector 7 agents to release Bumblebee so that he can get the All Spark to Optimus Prime. Frenzy's virus has shut down government communications, but a group of humans manage to establish a signal to the Air Force in order to support the Autobot-human convoy, who have gone to Mission City (which is 22 miles away) to hide the All Spark. The Decepticons attack and Bonecrusher, Frenzy, Jazz, Devastator and Blackout are all killed during the ensuing battle. Live Earth was a series of worldwide concerts held on 7 July 2007, that initiated a three-year campaign to combat climate change. The concerts brought together more than 150 musical acts in eleven locations around the world and were broadcast to a mass global audience through televisions, radio, and streamed via the Internet.

The 2004 Indian Ocean Earthquake
was an undersea earthquake which occurred at
00:58:53 UTC, December 26, 2004. It triggered
a series of deadly tsunamis along the coasts of
landmasses bordering the Indian Ocean. It took
the lives of more than 200,000 people in 11
different countries and inundating coastal
communities with waves up to 30 meters. It was considered one of the deadliest natural disasters in history. To be specific, countries that were affected were Indonesia, Sri Lanka, India, Thailand, the Maldives, Somalia, Myanmar, Malaysia, Seychelles and others. Both Sweden and Germany lost over 500 citizens each in the disaster. But Sri Lanka, Indonesia, Thailand and India were hit the hardest.

It was the second largest earthquake ever recorded in a seismograph and had the longest duration of faulting, up to 8 to 10 minutes. It even caused the Earth to vibrate as much as 1cm while triggering other earthquakes as far as Alaska!
It was known scientifically as the Great Sumatra-Andaman earthquake, and was also known as the Asian tsunami and the Boxing-Day tsunami.

1. As there was a widespread damage of the infrastructure, shortages of food and water supplies and economic damages, a great deal of humanitarian aid was needed.

According to the police, Chen's "Cotton-candy Mac" computer was sent in for repairs, and an estimated 1,300 intimate photographs of Chen and numerous female celebrities may have been accessed and copied by one or more of the shop's employees without consent.Chen's photographs were reportedly taken some time between 2003 and 2006.One close friend indicated that Chen liked to take photographs during intimate moments with his sexual partners, of whom 14 were celebrities, and privately showed these to a select group of close friends.

Raymond rushed to Betty's flat and found Bruce Lee in an unrousably deep sleep. A doctor was called, arrived almost immediately and spent ten minutes trying to revive Bruce Lee. By 10 o'clock an ambulance had arrived and Bruce Lee was rushed to the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. Raymond Chow telephoned Linda(bruce's wife) and told her to go there straight away. When Bruce Lee arrived at the hospital, doctors rushed him into intensive care and began massaging his heart. This was quickly followed by an injection of stimulatory drugs directly into the heart as well as electric shocks. It was no use. Bruce Lee was already dead. He was just thirty-two years old.

A neurosurgeon declared that something ws wrong with Bruce Lee's brain is swollen and there is excess fluid surrounding his brain.

The September 11, 2001 attacks (often referred to as 9/11) were a series of coordinated suicide attacks by al-Qaeda upon the United states.

What happened on that day?(September 11,2001)

On that morning, nineteen terrorists affiliated with al-Qaeda hijacked four commercial passenger jet airlines . Each team of hijackers included a member who had undergone some pilot training. The hijackers intentionally crashed two of the airliners (American Airlines Flight 11 and United Airlines Flight 175) into the World Trade Centre in New York City one plane into each tower (1 WTC and 2 WTC), resulting in the collapse of both buildings soon afterward and extensive damage to nearby buildings.

this is the story of a man,a brave man that overcame odds faced by many people worldwide,cancer.Lance was Born on September 18, 1971 in Plano Texas Lance was raised by protective parents.Lance had a strong bond with his mother,they were inseperable,she helped him through many difficult times.

He had quite a few noticable achievements during his younger years.At the age of 16, he won the United States Junior Triathlon title,a two-time Olympian, a multiple Tour de France winner and,most of all a victory in the United States Amateur Cycling championship
lBy 1996, Lance was ranked the number one cyclist in the world.

Tragedy struck Lance when he was just four months shy of his 25th birthday, he suffered from dizziness, blurred vision and abdominal pain.Tests revealed that he had advanced testicular cancer which had spread to his lungs and his brain Lance had to undergo four rounds of intense chemotherapy.

He eventually had surgery,and,by a stroke of sheer luck he came out of surgery alive!.to doctors and the surgeons who performed it,it was considered a miracle the he survive.the following weeks of chemotherapy was a toture for lanceas he struggled in and out of the hospital,wondering if his carrer was done for.

Eventually he went back to his career as a cyclist, even participating in the toure de france

Mother Teresa (Albanian: Agnes Gonxha Bojaxhiu; August 26, 1910 – September 5, 1997) was a Roman Catholic nun who founded the Missionaries of Charity in Kolkata (Calcutta), India in 1950. For over forty years she ministered to the poor, sick, orphaned, and dying, while guiding the Missionaries of Charity's expansion, first throughout India and then in other countries.
By the 1970s she had become internationally famed as a humanitarian and advocate for the poor and helpless, due in part to a documentary, and book, Something Beautiful for God by Malcolm Muggeridge. She won the Nobel Peace Prize in 1979 for her humanitarian work. Mother Teresa's Missionaries of Charity continued to expand, and at the time of her death it was operating 610 missions in 123 countries, including hospices and homes for people with HIV/AIDS, leprosy and tuberculosis, soup kitchens, children's and family counseling programs, orphanages, and schools.
Following her death she was beatified by Pope John Paul II and given the title Blessed Teresa of Calcutta.

In 1991, after a battle with pneumonia while in Mexico, she suffered further heart problems. She offered to resign her position as head of the Missionaries of Charity. But the nuns of the order, in a secret ballot, voted for her to stay. Mother Teresa agreed to continue her work as head of the order.

In April 1996, Mother Teresa fell and broke her collar bone. In August she suffered from malaria and failure of the left heart ventricle. She had heart surgery, but it was clear that her health was declining. On March 13, 1997, she stepped down from the head of Missionaries of Charity and died on September 5, 1997, nine days after her 87th birthday.

An extremely shy girl, Hayley’s desire to perform was initially trumped by a severe case of stage fright. It wasn’t until she moved to Tennessee that Hayley began to take steps to conquer her fear, as the aspiring singer signed up for vocal lessons and started to pursue roles in a variety of school productions.

Around the age of eleven she started taking music seriously because she really wanted to start a band, so she got over her shyness and sang whenever she could to gain experience. By the time she was 13 she moved to Franklin, Tennessee. She tried out for a funk/rock band called The Factory.

As a sleight-of-hand expert and entertainer, he practices five hours a day, wearing out over three hundred decks of cards each year. He is one of the few magicians in Asia who can bring the most "world class" magic to Hong Kong and Asia . Many of his magic are originated by him and can't be seen elsewhere.

1) What are MR Thomas hobbies?
He likes to play all kind of games,both indoor and outdoor.He used to be a PE teacher. He loves to play soccer,sepak tekraw,badminton and swimming.
2) What does he normally do during weekends?
During Saturday morning, he usually stay in school till noon .Then he will go home and have lunch with his family.About 5pm,he will go to the church for his prayers and in the night, he go out for dinner with his family.During Sunday, he will bring his sons to the church for their prayers till lunch time. After that,he will bring his family to his mother-in-law house for dinner .He will try to keep his weekends free for his family.
3) What is his defination of a hero?
He feels that a hero does not necessary means intelligent,smart or famous, as long as whatever you does mean good to people and have a positive impact to the people around you , you are consider a hero.
4) Will he consider himself to be a hero?
Yes,he consider himself a hero to his sons as they see him as someone that can help them in many ways;studies,character building etc.He hopes to be a hero to all students and also hopes to project a good image and good discipline to the students.He felt that he had set a good example in role modeling and he used to provide tuition to people.He had help in the commitee by serving as a member that organise activities for people living in the community.He once saved a girl from drowning.She was swept away in Bukit Batok and he found her in Clementi.
He came from a poor family where he used to live in a 1-room flat with his 4 siblings and parents.He lived on free textbooks and donations.He felt that it is his duty to giv back to people that had helped him.He thank his parents for bringing him up and it translate a blessing to him when he see his parents happy.He had provided security for the ASEAN members for 2 weeks.He felt that all people is a hero in their ownself.
5) What will he do if he was neither a police officer nor a vice-principle in JVS?
He will loves to be a pilot as he loves flying but he was being put in the police force.His ambition was to be a pilot or a Singapore Armed Forces(SAF) commando.He thought he would be the NO.1 pilot or commando, so he went for test and he passed almost all of them but in the eand, he was being put in the police force.
Then his wife came into the picture and she was a teacher.She asked him whether he wants to be one.His mother and wife influenced him to be in the teaching profession.Till now, he still loves his job as he gets to mix with the teenagers and having a good impact to them.
6)Who is his hero?
He had 3 heroes.One was our minister mentor,Lee Kuan Yew.He felt that he is one man in times of difficulty,but stood out as an outstanding man.He also felt that he is a well-respected man and a visionability leader who had good values;integrity,discipline and he can be followed.
Another hero of his was a police officer who had passed away.He was Mr Thomas immediate superviser in the police force.He helped him a lot and was kind to him.He helped him to received an award as being a outstanding officer in Jurong Station.
His last hero was his father.His father study very hard and qualify for SJR,and went on to work.But he left his studies when Mr Thomas grandmother passed away.His father then take jobs to provide the family.His job was a labourer and a secuirity guard.Because of what he did, his siblings and sons respected him.
7)Things that were interesting about him.
He actually wan a non-swimmer in the army.During an activity, which was mainly crossing the river in the night, all of the others wore a blue lighted torch helmet,which indicates that they could swim.But Mr Thomas wore a red lighted helmet, which indicates that he couldn't swim.But he overcame his problems and eventually got a life guard certificate.He loves to help people and always feel indebted to people that had helped him before so he was always wliing to help people that were in troubles.

be our hero, much to everyone's confusion.
